Here are the election results from yesterday’s two State House runoff elections in southern Mississippi, as reported by the Associated Press on the Jackson Clarion-Ledger‘s website:
As I noted yesterday on Twitter, there are runoffs today for 2 southern Mississippi State House seats for which Special Elections were held on November 8th. Special elections in MS are officially non-partisan, but the candidates in both cases are conservative so the seats won’t change parties.
About last night….
The incredible 2016 election campaign gave way to an even more unbelievable election night, what with Donald Trump’s unprecedented victory, combined with another cycle of massive Republican gains in gubernatorial and state legislative races while suffering only minimal seat losses in Senate and Congressional contests. Obviously, what was even more amazing was the fact that these outcomes were so different from what most polls and political analysts had expected.
